Lot #17 1952 Star Cal Decal Mickey Mantle

One of the great early Mantle cards, these hardly ever come to market and are fought over with gusto by collectors when they come to auction, which is not very often! Fresh card, this has beautiful color, a vibrant red envelope and tremendous eye appeal. The Mantle decal has some stray print but otherwise appears to be flawless. The envelope has some of the typical wrinkles but has crisp edges and only light corner wear. I love the image of Mantle here with th great 1903-1952 patch on his left sleeve that you do not see on any of his other cards. A real gem, this is so much scarcer than his Topps and Bowman cards from this era, this is a truly special and beautiful Mickey Mantle card.
