Vital set, one of the most important non-sports card sets ever produced. A landmark issue, this set vividly showed the great costs of war throughout Europe and East Asia. This set does not in any way glorify war, the vivid images were in fact an attempt to clamp down a rush to war by showing its horrid effects. Among collectors, this is a real prize and sure to be among the top highlights of any non-sport card collection. The offered set is low to mid-grade. The condition varies, perhaps half the cards are Good or below, the balance GVG to VG-Ex or so, with many nice cards. The #1 card is good, the #288 VG Plus. We will not picture the Hitler cards, one is 283 is Good, 286 Fair-Good.
