One of the great Presidential images of the 20th century, Harry Truman was predicted to lose his 1948 Presidential campaign by all of the pollsters. Truman rallied to defeat NY State Governor Thomas Dewey. One newspaper in the entire country, the Chicago Daily Tribune, jumped the gun and printed the newspaper with Dewey as the victory. Very scarce, these are treasured by collectors. Offered is an admittedly low grade example, this has chipping in various places, general wear and may have been separated at one point. Despite these flaws, the banner is perfectly vibrant and clean and looks great. Smartly framed, this has a perfect antique feel to it, total size 21x27.
