Listing Details

One of the most desirable Willie Mays signed cards, this was only Willie's second card and is a tougher high number. Always a pricey card, it is very rare to find one with an autograph. The offered lot, originally part of the signed 1952 Bowman set in the auction, was a favorite of our consignor. Fresh to market, we submitted this to PSA at the National Convention this year and the autograph was graded a 9. Signed in a perfect spot in blue sharpie ink, the signature contrasts very nicely against the card itself. The card retains good color and image quality but has some condition issues. There is creasing on the front of the card, but it does not crack the paper. The back of the card has paper loss in three places, but is not bad overall. A significant and important Willie Mays hand-signed card from 1952, this is a great piece to add to any advanced card or autograph collection.
