Listing Details

An almost profoundly rare signed card, there are apparently only two on the PSA registry. The offered PSA slabbed Authentic card has rich blue color and a flawless image of the great Campanella at back. The has slight creasing and is mid-grade. The back is fine, the centering is not bad at all, the corners show mild and consistent wear. Campy signed this by the upper right border, this is a Mint period blue ballpoint signature that is just superb. The story of Campy's tragic auto accident is well known, this created an extremely scarcity for any card signed during his playing career. A 1952 Topps signed example sold for over $100,000 this year; while this is certainly not that card, this is an extremely significant signed 1950s card worthy of the finest autograph card collections.
